Hey everyone,
is there anyone around using a German "Alice" internet connection via WLAN?

We used to do while I was living with friends. I moved out a while ago, but for some months, they are in trouble - only on Macs. Sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn't. We configured a seperate Airport connection for networking and one PPPoE connection over Airport for the internet connection - which worked pretty well for us for over a year. Perhaps Alice has changed something, although the PCs in the flat connect in the same way. Any ideas? Again: We do NOT go online via a router connection; everyone in the flat uses the Alice modem as a wireless modem (which was the only way to go online without getting a real router and which worked well for a long time).

Any ideas?
Steve

Throw that **** out and buy a ****ing €30 WLAN router.

Seriously.

That Siemens STS-10 or whatever it is they shipped for a few years (thankfully, they've finally stopped, the morons) is total crap, and it really doesn#t help that the firmware has been so crippled that you can't change the WLAN name to distinguish your connection from, say your three other neighbors' who ALSO are on Alice.
