I'm trying to set up a network at my inlaws condo in Korea and am having difficulty. Unfortunately no one I know here is fluent enough to assist with technical questions.

My goal is to connect their Windows PC, IPTV box, and an Apple Airport Express N (current model) to the internet via their current router.

Problem is only one computer can be on the network at once. So if the Windows PC and Airport are both plugged in only one device will work.

Airport Utility gives me the following error:
Double NAT: This Apple wireless device has a private IP address on its Ethernat WAN port. t is connected to a device or network that is using Network Address Translation (NAT) to provide private IP addresses. You should change your Apple wireless device from using DHCP and NAT to bridge mode.

However, when I use bridge mode the Airport cannot connect to the internet.

I believe they have DSL. They definitely don't have coaxial cable.

I cannot read Korean and my inlaws do not know how to change the Windows OS language to English, so I can't get settings from their computer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What's the "current router" you mention? Why do you have two routers? Is the "current router" the modem itself? If that's the case, the "current router" should be in bridge mode and the AEBS should be making the connection (PPPoE for DSL) and distributing IP addresses. You got the first error because both devices (the current router and the AEBS) are trying to distribute IP addresses to the network.

More info is definitely needed about the "current router". If it is a separate box from the modem, just get rid of it and use the AEBS instead.

The connection from the wall goes into the modem. The modem connects to the "current router" which has a few ethernet ports. Their desktop connects to that. The Airport Express is connected to this router.

I want to keep the ethernet connection for the desktop, if possible.

Since the router is connected to the modem, shouldn't the AEBS connecting via Ethernet and the Connection Sharing be Bridge Mode? But this doesn't work.

I guess I will try Connect Using PPPoE. The difficult part will be determining the Account Name and password.

If that fails, I will try your suggestion of ditching the current router and connecting the AEBS directly to the modem. For that I will need a wireless dongle and to learn some Korean to configure it. The advantage of this setup would be Back To My Mac would be more likely to work, so I can trouble shoot from the States.

Networking is not one of my strengths

Oh, this is Airport "Express", not "Extreme". Sorry. With an Extreme, you could just replace the current router. That, or some other wireless router would be the best, easiest solution because you'd get wireless and ethernet in one box.

Don't use PPPoE through the Express. That's already being done by the modem or, most likely, the existing router. Bridge mode should be the solution and should work. How is it failing when in bridge mode? Are the wireless clients not getting IP addresses or what?

I have an AEBN at home to avoid the issues I'm having now and to avoid issues with BackToMyMac.

Set the AE for Ethernet and Bridge mode. Still getting the Double NAT problem and no internet connection. So I guess the AE is not getting an IP address from the router.

Connected the AE directly to the modem and used Ethernet and Share IP Address. The AE reported no errors and I was able to wirelessly connect to the internet. But still cannot connect the desktop with an ethernet cable.

I am leaving tomorrow so have very little time to sort this out. If all else fails, I'll just attempt to set up a wireless dongle on the desktop.

Networking is confusing enough but throwing in a foreign language only makes it more difficult.
