Why waste USB port (and all the driver problems that accompany some USB devices)?

I'd get a wireless adapter that uses Ethernet to connect to the Mac.

Well the AirPort Express is such an adapter. It's certainly not the most compact solution (and it requires extra power), but it gets the job done.

It's worth mentioning that a number of G3 and G4 Macs only have USB 1.1, which is ungodly slow for wireless. An ethernet-to-wifi bridge (like the Airport Extreme, although I imagine there are cheaper alternatives) would be a better route.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...
