Hi All,

A Mac on my network is no longer showing in the left sidebar of my Finder windows. Using Command-K, and then using the browse button, I can see the mac in question in the Network icon (what is this aggregator called, anyways?) and I can then connect to it, but I can't add it to the sidebar in the Finder.

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Chas

Try removing Finder Preferences - drag the file to the desktop, then log out / log in. See if you can put the desired icon back in the sidebar. If it doesn't work, you can move the new finder prefs file to the trash, move the old back into Preferences, and log out / log in again to be back to normal.

Thanks for the suggestion reader50, I'll do that when I'm back in front of the machine (mea culpa, that should have been the second thing I did! <doh!>).

Cheers!

Hi,

Go to Finder > Preferences...

Then click on 'Sidebar' and check the box next to 'Network'.

You can customise your sidebar here to suit your needs.

Hope that does it!

All the best.

Thanks BlueJolz,

I actually tried that one before my OP, but thanks for the suggestion (actually, I just looked again, and there is no "Network" there, but there are three boxes for different networks, so no worries :-)

The Finder prefs rebuild solved my problem (thanks again reader50!)

Cheers!

Chas
