I have an older style (b/g) A Express which I used for Airtunes. In moving things around trying to fill dead areas, I can no longer get the unit to join my network again. An ethernet connection from my Airport extreme finds it in Airport utility and allows me to rename it and Create a network (green light) but as soon as I ask it to Join my network, it drops off AU and I'm back to blinking orange. Even in Create mode, it seems to be dependent on the ethernet connection. Is it just faulty ?I have done several resets but maybe there are some simple steps I am overlooking or some way to do a much harder reset. I have 2 other A Expresses (n) which work fine

Any advice much appreciated

Do you have MAC address filtering enabled on the main wifi router? What kind of security settings do you have on the network the AP Express is supposed to join?

Just out of curiosity, if you turn off WEP and WPA/WPA2 on the other network, can the Express then join?

Thanks

No mac address filtering is being used. I do use WPA security but I've tried to have it join with and without security but still no luck.

I'm puzzled as to

-why it worked until I tried to move it around
- why it is able to create its own network (though ethernet cable connected dependent)

but wont work either in isolation or join the existing network.
Are these signs of failure ?
Is there a stronger reset I can try?
