Apologies if this is dealt with elsewhere but searching on RAID and multiple backups returned hundreds of posts

I have Timemachine on a MBP and UnibodyMB backing up to a 500 GB USB powered drive attached to an Airport Basestation. The drive is used to store documents via AirDisk and these are not backed up via Timemachine as they are not on the laptops.

I feel this is a little vulnerable.

Since HDD are so cheap I would like to add another drive to the Airport Basestation via a powered USB hub and ask the system to duplicate the 1st drive automatically.

Could you please direct me as to how to do this and what this mechanism is called.

Thank you for your help.

Airport isn't nearly advanced enough to support anything like that.

The path of least resistance is to regularly copy the shared documents to your laptop.
