Just got the Pro for x-mas so this is probably a newbie question. I can configure the Pro to detect my Netgear wireless router but every time I restart the Pro I have to reconfigure the wireless connection to my Netgear router.
What do I need to do for my Pro to always detect my wireless Router at start up?

In Preferences - Network - Advanced, you can select a checkbox called "Remember networks this computer has joined"
This should do the trick.

I checked that but I still need to configure the pro with the wireless router everytime I restart.

Did you add the network in the Preferences - Network pane, or did you just connect to it ?
Try to add it directly in Preferences - Network - Advanced, and see if that sticks.

i.e. click the + button, then Show Networks, and select the network. After adding the network, make sure it is at the top of the list of preferred networks by clicking and dragging it (if multiple networks are listed.

OK, I'm retarded.....I have been adding the network every tome thru the preferences and network tab...it sees all the available networks around me....I select my router...it asks for my password....then it will take me 5-10 times of doing this before I can connect.
Steve....I'm not sure what you mean by the "plus" sign.....the only plus sign I see is when I hit the network tab and there is a "+" sign to add another interface.
Turtle.....when I hit the network tab and then advanced...it gives me a Bluetooth folder with the tabs modem, DNS, WINS, PRoxies and PPP. Not sure what any of that is.
Again thanks for helping a cherry out.

Then something else is going on. Possibly a problem with your keychain, not sure.
Could you try creating a second user, then set the network for that user, and see if that sticks ?

Sorry to be a PIA
Ok...I found my network, put in the password, deleted all locations except for mine, checked the "remember all locations" box...hit "apply"....locked in my changes (the "lock" picture is now locked) but when I restart my computer it can't find my network...I go to the network tab via preferences and the "lock" picture is unlocked again...
Any ideas?
Thanks

The lock really doesn't affect the settings, something else is going on.
I'm out of ideas right now.
Have you checked over at the Apple Support discussion forums ?

Bin the SystemConfiguration folder in ~Library/Preferences and connect again. Make sure you tick the remember etc box. If still no joy launch keybchain access and delete the keychain reference to the wifi network or as a last resort your entire keychain.

I'm on a macbook pro with OS X10.6.2 that recently started having WIFi problems, dropped connections, then would not acknowledge the WPA password for my DSL access. Fixed it temporarily using System Preferences=>Network=>Gear and moved Airport to top of search sequence. Same problem came up again. Works fine on same unit using Windows under bootcamp. Checked DSL connection with IPhone and works fine. Any ideas?
