Hey. Ok let me start from the beginning, I got a new MacBook running OSX recently and apart from the occasional disconnection my mac connects and runs the Internet smoothly through my wireless router. However, yesterday I got in from work, turned on my mac and, although connecting to the router, my mac won't load any webpage. The airport icon displays an exclamation mark in it also.
I understand the problem - my router will not supply me with an ip address so my
mac is forced to self-assign one, which is not compatable with the router. I have tried the following:
Renewing DHCP lease for a new ip address, however it self assigns itself with the same One again.
Restarting both router and MacBook
Manually inputting an IP address which is compatable
Manually entering all configurations for the 'IPv4' address subnet mask and router (copying the details of someone elses mac)
finally a few extra details - my friend came around to help me but his MacBook pro had the same problem.
All pc's in the house are working
and my step-dads previous version of MacBook has no problem at all (although still running OS X)
please please give me a solution !!
Thanks
