All-
I have been scouring the 'Net for over a month now trying to solve the dropout problems when using Airtunes and multiple Airport Expresses. I assumed originally that it was a wifi network problem, or some sort of interference. However, with much determination, I went ahead and ran cat5 to both AEXs and still have the dropout problem. which in my mind eliminates the problem being network related. Or possibly Im missing something...
But anyway, the dropouts get worse the longer the system is playing. Meaning the first 1/2 hour or so, there are no problems, then it gets progressively more frequent.
Here is the real kicker though. The speakers hooked up to the host mac drops out at the same time. Again suggesting to me, that it isnt a wireless network problem...
but I still cant seem to find a solution. Ive tried all of the 'typical' fixes that people suggest online, but none of them seem to be the fix for my setup.
-Mac Mini on 10.6
-2 Airport expresses (N version) running as my main wireless hubs, both setup to "extend" network.
I used to have the itunes library living on a g4 server, that the Mini used as a NAS. I thought that network traffic might be a possible cause, but after moving the iTunes library locally to the Mini, things got worse actually. So I am at a total loss as far as new ideas to try.
Anybody have any new suggestions?
Thanks for any suggestions.
