I would like to attach an external NAS HD to my wireless networked 1 Tb time capsule via an ethernet port and address it from all the Mac on the net work.

I am having difficulty in discovering/configuring the NAS. It does not appear in the list when I open Airport Utility.

Can I use Bonjour to discover it?

What will I do with the info Bonjour supplies?

Thanks in advance

Hook it up directly to your Mac and configure it there first. Once that's done move it to the TC.

Simon , thanks for your help, I've tried this.
The NAS is connected to a Mac and I use Safari and a supplied IP address, the download is temperamental but the activity light indicates activity. It can take minutes to load the "web page".

I have connected a Mac to the TC via ethernet and used an app to obtain IP address. I type this into the NAS and then connect to TC. Zilch!

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks again

If it takes minutes just to load the config page for the NAS I'd assume you got a lemon.

I had my suspicions Simon. I think I'll get a powered USB hub and and a SATA USB enclosure and transfer the 1Tb drive out of the NAS.

Thanks

PS Wireless Printer Driver for the USB ext HD instead of a USB hub ? Know any Mac compatble ones or do I use Bonjour?

Thanks
