I've managed to network these two machines about halfway -- I can read Mac folders on the PC, but can't access the PC from the Mac.

Actually, I can read shared Mac folders on the PC, but can't access the Drop Box in the Mac's Public folder. I get a message that says I may lack permission. But I believe I've provided the proper access in the Mac's networking and sharing setup.

The PC doesn't appear at all in the Mac Finder, even though I've run XP's networking wizard and designated folders for sharing.

I've been following these instructions and don't think I missed a step:
File Sharing With OS X 10.5 - Share Mac Files with Windows XP

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Only the owner of the Drop Box folder can open it. That means someone USING the Mac.
