I haven't posted a new pic here in a while:

Now that is an example of a really great game.
Hey, I spread my love across all systems.

Those widgets look awesome, not to mention a functional "time until" widget (IMO, there aren't many of them)

EDIT: Are they available for download anywhere? I can't find them...

Oh, if only you could understand how freaking awesome Xbox Live really is... I can see you saying to yourself, if only I could go online with this and seamlessly be able to voice chat with my teammates, yell at my enemies, invite my buddies into a clan that I created, and even send voice messages to people I know. Oh and theres that little thing called downloadable content.

And I wouldnt say superior so soon fireside kid.

They are all modifications of this widget. I removed all of the code that was put in to make the original display custom graphics for numbers and then put in some code of my own (very little, and very simple) to display the graphics and text and whatnot. http://www.widgetgallery.com/view.php?widget=35789

EDIT: Are they available for download anywhere? I can't find them...
If you post (or PM) your e-mail I can send you the widgets (or just the Halo one, whatever), but you should know that the generic font I use for the countdown is ITC Bailey Sans (which you probably don't have, so you'll need to poke around in the .kon and change that to whatever font you want [changing the font will most likely mess up the format a bit so you'll want to adjust the offsets and font sizes so it looks right]). The Halo font should be pretty easy to find with Google, and if you want the Echoes or San Andreas widgets, their respective fonts are Ethnocentric and Diploma (which can be found on dafont.com for free).

So if you still want them... I can e-mail them to you.

Edit: Oh, and you have to set the date in the preferences, it defaults to the Mac Expo of the original widget. I figure if you care enough to run the widget you know when it's being released.

downloadable content? more like "we couldn't finish everything in time so we're being lazy bums and adding this later when we feel like finishing it."

btw, on IGN, Halo got 9.7, while Metroid Prime got a 9.8. thats a whole .1 difference. Metroid Prime 2 > Halo 2

Uhmm, downloadable content is not only for patches and whatnot. Although it is good for allowing your system to be kept up to date (much like the incremental OS updates that Apple releases), it is even more useful for downloading actual content. In a game called Project Gotham Racing 2 (which trumps any racing title on the GC) you can get more cars and more tracks to race at if you wish.

And as for IGN, well Ill just let Gabe and Tycho say it for me:

Olorin, I am sorry that we had to have this little talk in this thread. Im not trying to say that Xbox is better or whatever, I love my GC and will by MP:E when it comes out. Anyways, carry on gentlemen.

I just had an awesome idea for a widget: A thingo that displayes who is online on your friends list. Already various sites allow you to check your list, like ther official xbox site and bungie.net, but it would be so accessible, not to mention cutting the trouble of having to sign in to your passport.

If anyone could attempt that, that would be excellent.
