You heard right. Just in case you thought Apple's Google search was innovative...think again. Google search has been possible on IE's toolbar before Safari.

PS Not bashing Safari or looking to start a debate or argument. Just pointing out something useful to those who still use IE, whether they always use IE or on occasion. So please, none of this:

PPS You can modify it to use any international Google and image.

Note: Those who downloaded my IE XP theme already know this. IETR got it from me and I got it from someone who originally created it for Chimera's bookmarks.

Actually its nothing more than a simple javascript prompting you to enter search keys. I think there was a thread a while back explaining how to add this to Chimera and other browsers.

I hacked IE ages ago to use google to search instead of msn when you typed "? search string" into the address bar. Much more convenient than a javascript popup.
