Hi, I just found this on the microsoft website,

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...oads/bliss.asp

personally I think it is a very nice screensaver and one that I would like to use as a desktop moving background, they provide an avi file of the screensaver, is there any way to play this avi file as desktop.

ie. like backlight with screen effects.

Thanks

DeskShade Plus lets you have movies as desktops. It's Shareware.

If you want to run a screensaver as a desktop, go to the terminal and type:

/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background &

The terminal will return the process ID (PID), so when you get bored or need the power, you can kill the process by typing

kill (followed by the PID number - no brackets)

Your previous desktop picture will return immediately.

Tom.

Thanks Tom, but what I'm after is not to run a screensaver as a background but an avi movie.

POS Microsoft and their Non-Standard AVI Format. Stupid AVI won't work. I HATE AVI! All the Windows Geeks praise it as the next big thing but NONE OF IT IS STANDARD!

yeah i found that back in the day and ended up converting it to a .mov or .mpg and using a couple of different ways to convert it to a mac screensaver. it ended up not working because for some reason it would pause for a split second before the loop occured. it looked really jank.
