Watercolors Blue.
The Olive ones are nice, too, but they don't "go" with anything else on my desk.

I posted those on the Neowin board. They're not my original creation though (well some are, like the toolbar icons, but most aren't), I've just redrawn the icons that come with RedHat Linux.
They're available for download here if anyone wants them: BlueCurve Icons
Back on topic, I use good old SNOW.E 2

Same here with Max's SmoothStripes. Snow E2 is so gorgeous. It's crazy because I'll use my computer sometimes JUST to look at it! Now, that's addictive.

I totally dig those Blue Curve icons - now my two machines can kind of look alike!
If he doesn't mind, I've made up a Candy icontainer of Cerbero's awesome BlueCurve icons for your system changing pleasure:

I've been using these icons for a few days now and am going to stick with them, they being the only replacement for Aqua's default icons I've ever actually liked. However, the lack of an open state for the generic folder is slightly annoying. Does anyone have the latest version of IconBuilder? I understand that this is the only icon creating app that allows for said open states. And, if someone has it, could they please make a new version of the generic folder icon, one with the folder slightly more open?
Pretty please?
I'd do it myself, but I have neither IconBuilder or the skills to make an open state icon.
Thanks.
[Edit - I am retarded, didn't realise there was a Trial Period for IconBuilder. Now all I need is an open state icon. And no doubt there is already one out there and I just need to go find it. But, if not, could someone make one?]

I didn't make an open state icon because IconBuilder didn't have support for that when I made the icons (or at least I don't think so ). I'm sorry, but I won't make an open-state one, since I'm sooo very tired of those icons.. But anyone who feels inspired, please do make one
Btw, I've never seen an icon set with open-state folders, and I've never used Apples default folders. So I'm wondering, when do they change to open-state? Is it when you drop things on them or what?

So there isn't an icon that already exists, say from the original linux icons? Pah. Please make it? One day? Say, five years from now, when you've had a break from them? On second thoughts, if someone else could make one a little sooner...?

When you drag an item over a generic folder, it snaps open. When you let go of the item, the generic folder snaps closed. I would do a screen shot, but that would involve CandyBar and a restart, so I shan't.

Oh, something else occurred to me. Can you provide the original blue arrow that appears on the Downloads folder? Sans said folder, in 32x32 size if possible? 128x128 if not.
The screenshot demonstrates why I ask; as I have used the 32x32 Network icon to replace the Sites folder toolbar icon, I would like to do the same for the Downloads folder.
Thanks,
Simon

OMG! THANK YOU!
Yesterday I found a Windows Screenshot at DeskMod with the Blue Curve icons and I fell in love. I didn't realize they were ported! This is great!
I've been using SmoothIcons 5 for months but now I am using Blue Curve.
Now I just need an OS X Theme that looks as good as that screenshot and I will be in heaven.

Unfortunately, there is no open-state icon in the Linux collection.
Anyway, here's the 32x32 Downloads icon at least: http://cerbero.thinkhost.com/download-icon.sit
Enjoy
BTW, how did you change the icon in the toolbar only? Did you make an alias with the new icon that you dragged to the toolbar, or is there some other way of accomplishing it?

Using Iconographer, I took the Large (32x32) icons and masks from the Network icon and used them to replace their counterparts in the Sites icon. Then I applied it using CandyBar. Because the Finder's toolbar uses the 32x32 state of the icon, I get the globe in the toolbar, the folder in the window. Of course, if your Icon size set in View Options is between 20x20 and 32x32, you'll also see the icons meant for the toolbar in the Finder window proper. I use 48x48, so it's not a problem for me.
So, I have now made a new Downloads folder. Here be pretty screenshot:
Both the Sites and Downloads icons can be downloaded here.

I like that Downloads folder icon, but funny thing is I just use the Desktop for Downloads since it's more convenient. So it's useless to me.

I love the Bluecurve icons, but i think they look kinda out of place in Mac OS X being beige.
I think a white or gray Bluecurve icons variation would be awesome...Maybe Cerbero or anyone could do such variation.

for all you lazy people (like me) i made an iContainer of the BlueCurve icons. you can get it here.
the location and clipping icons are from snow e2 graphite cause that was the icon set i was using before bluecurve.
ps: right click the image and go to download item to disk or whatever

I don't want to do it myself, but if anyone else feels inclined, I still have the PSD with all the folder emblems on separate layers, so it would be pretty easy to do.
If anyone's interested, drop me a PM, and I'll send you the PSD.
fireside: screamingFit already posted an iContainer. Look further up in the thread.

To stop spam software which searches pages for email addresses, and then sends them junk (mostly porn).
By writing your email address using -at- or (at) then you can mask the address from the software, but some programs are getting round this too now.
I'm using the BlueCurve icons posted on here. Go really nicely with SimpleX theme.

Yeah, I sent them to screamingfit and digitaljames. screamingfit told me he would probably be too busy to release them in a near future, and I don't know about digitaljames.
If anyone's really interested in doing a good recoloring and releasing them, drop me a PM (again ).

For webpages I use a small app from railhead that turns your email address into ACSII representations, basically when the bot scans your source code for @...com addresses it sees giberrish so it skips it.

Have fun.

I've been back to Snow.E2 for some time now, but I was wondering - When are those color variations going to appear? It has been over 2 months since announced!
-> I just checked and the RadE8 site is being updated. Hopefully, they will appear soon.

Question--
While I'd love to support the IconFactory by buying CandyBar, I unfortunately can't, since I'm only 15 years old, and the idea of buying this kind of stuff online doesn't thrill my parents. So, is there another way to completely remodel the system icons, apart from going to every single "Get Info" box and using the Paste trick?
Thanks,
-Sage

is anyone running the new snow e.2 icons? i just downloaded all the new colours and made .icontainers of them.
lime, tangerine, strawberry, jaguar
they look good. i do not like the strawberry and jaguar all that much tho.
i wonder when if the individual icons for aqua are going to be released, them my download folder will have a proper icon when i use snow e.2.

There are individual folder icons for Aqua - You download from deskmod the Aqua variation just like you did the 4 new ones.
Graphite and Snow are still the best, but color choice is always a good thing.

I think it's LiquidityX's Graphite system folders.
I like the "wow" of the ones listed hear but I tend to use only 32x32 icons unless it's a folder of thumbnails and "designers" seem to neglect that size a bit. The system default blue gets on my nerves sometimes.
