Yesterday I spend several hours scouring the net trying to find good quality master art to use as desktop images. I must confess I am growing weary of electronic art and just wanted a little Monet or Sargent to look at for a while.

I found eMuseums a plenty and lots of poster sites but the problem is most of them just have minimal resolutions that do not render well on my 17 display.

If anyone could flip me a link or two I'd be most grateful.

There are a bunch of scans at Mark Harden's Artchive. Some of them are big enough, but I'm not sure the colors are always accurate.

I always just use google's advanced image search, with size set to wallpaper-sized, and type in the artist's name. I usually get pretty good results.

Try Hokusai, his paintings make great desktop art.
Dooby, dooby doo.
