Just tried it with Rhapsodized which has 8 theme variations. The dlta is 35,5 MB, and the xscheme is 4,4 MB. Compressed the dlta (with package) is 4,4 MB and the xscheme is 3,8 MB.
So, good job
Now we just need the new Duality.
And how will we be able to create xschemes from scratch?
Is it also possible to remove the resources not used in themes, seeing as the new format is resourced based?

If TK is at all clever it will have removed unneeded resources automatically.

TK does not handle resources..... yet (cough cough). Duality handles resources, so yes, if you remove the resources you don't need the theme will work with Duality 4 GT just fine. This is handled seperately from any XScheme translation, so remove the resources first, and then translate to XScheme. Duality 4 GT will also handle partial resource files in DLTA's and .theme's, just change the OS tag to "themestep".
We plan on announcing a Catalyst update later this week. The new Catalyst will probably be built on ThemeKit meaning XScheme compatibility.

Ok, I'll wait until Duality 4 GT and Catalyst is released then. I hope xscheme is not too complicated...
