All this talk about early OSX themes has got me working on my first real theme again. Yes, "Titanium" was one of the first non-aqua-based themes released and it met almost universal boos and jeers. My feelings were so hurt that I stopped themeing except for my own private 'mods' for years, but I've fixed several of the worst things about it (compare the buttons and apple menu and overall color to what you can still see in my signature image) and I'm actually considering releasing it again when it's done, unless you critics out there can convince me not to! Flame on!

It's not really my style, but it looks a lot better than your sig. I always wondered what your sig was.

Overall it looks quite cool and original.
I really like the title bar except for the far right widget, seems it should be a light grey like the other widgets. Also the scrolls look too contrasty imo, I wish they matched the titlebar better. Of course the bbx elements look out of place and I'm sure they are.

I think the titlebar, menubar and widgets are a good foudation but the rest of the elements dont mesh well with them. The toolbar background looks like it is from a different theme and all of the scroll elements cold look much better if you simply followed the same aesthetic you used on the titlebar treatment. Just dont be hastey with a quick release. It could be really nice given you take the time to assure all fits well together. I know you can be patient since you have been for so long anyhow.

I must agree, some parts just don't seem to fit in, the scroll arrows, scroll bar and I think you are using to many different colors, too many shades of grey if you know what I mean ...
However the brushed metal window and the widgets are a perfect match

I like this scheme too. This is the first one that actually makes me consider applying a scheme. Please finish it The text for the file names is really nice.

Why'd you change your screenshot? Now all the parts I talked about in my first post aren't showing.. oh well.

And here's a shot of my new scrollbars and arrows that I've been working on all day! I forgot how much work this stuff is!
And here's a beta Extras.rsrc for people to download if they want to look at a work in progress and make suggestions...

It's turning out VERY nicely. I really like how the icons on Safari looked with the theme. It's got some kind of shiny, metallic sparkle look to it. Keep up the good work.

I like the brushed metal look you've got, but I don't like the really shiny round pipe look of everything. I think it's mainly the scroll bars and the menu bar that mess it up for me. A more cold color also might be better than the warm grays you've got. And the one color in the tool bar is kinda not working, if you had the brushed look there it might fit better. Well that's my 2 cents. ^^ but I do like the chrome metal idea. I've got a dark chrome look on my site, you might be interested in.

What do you do with a .rsrc file? I like the original shot better, I think, althought the white font on the black background is hard to read.
Also, what is that font? Is that also the font in iChat in that screenshot? It's really slick.

Yeah, I love that font.... I use the Silk Alpha to make it show system wide usually... it's Gil Sans light.

This is 100x better than the original. Keep up the good work.
Personally, I've given up on major themeing. It's just not worth it (to me).

Yeah... I don't understand your asking us to make you stop. Are we supposed to insult it so you choose not to continue work on it or something?

You guys have got me there. I forgot all about the hilarious title I originally posted for the thread. I guess I was asking for it. I wanted honesty, not fake compliments.... or even forced insults. Just tell me how my theme makes you feel :-]

I would perhaps get rid of the lines in the drop down menues. I like the "metalic" or clean look better.

I think the theme lacks any graphical talent, and the gradients are hideous.
How's that for how it makes me feel?

i for one think this looks hot.
some of the gradients could be toned down a little for usability's sake, and maybe make the backround of the scroll bars darker so that the um.. scroll things stand out more.
love the widgets though.

Thanks, I agree and have put the lines back the metal windows in and in other places as you can see in the most recent screenshot. The latest unfinished version is available for alpha testers if you want to try it and give me feedback.

It's looking better already, the lines in the tool bar look good, and I love the chrome apple. I'm not sure about the scroll bars though... You might want to play around with them a bit more.
