I used iFix©2 to make QuickTime 6.1 look good.

Upgrading to 6.1.1 obviously undid that.

Using Pacifist to compare the Localized.rsrc files in the packages of 6.1 and 6.1.1, they look to be the same size, but do have different modification dates:

And the file sizes once extracted using Pacifist:



Having the Developer Tools installed, I used the FileMerge Service to compare the two files. It found one difference, but I couldn't get it to tell me what exactly that difference was. Also, it complained about them not being plain ASCII files, so I don't know if that was the right thing to use.

Um...

Does anyone know if using iFix©2 on QuickTime 6.1.1 will work? Or should I wait for iFix to be updated?

I applied it and it still seems to work. If I get any problems it's easily reversed.

I can't help but wonder why Apple didn't do it themselves. This iMovie stuff looks so much better.

I haven't downloaded QT 6.1.1, but if the Localized.rsrc is the exact same size I think it's safe to apply it.

Otherwise, send me or Rene an email and we'll look into it.

I have 6.1.1 and it did replace the .rsrc file but I just used iFix again and it works. No probs whatsoever.
