In my wettest of dreams, I see my OS X desktop graced with the Crux theme.

Crux is the GUI developped by Arlo Rose for the Nautilus file manager (Linux). You can check it out on Arlo's portfolio page:

http://www.workthatmouse.com/portfolio/eazel.html

Back in the good ol' days of the Kaleidoscope scheme list, Arlo once gave someone permission to make a scheme based on Crux... but the project was never completed unfortunately

Anyways, I'm hoping a themer here will step forward and make the Crux theme (with appropriate permissions from Arlo OF COURSE!!!)

Cheers!!!

It looks like a mix between the default GNOME appearance and Watercolor.

Nothing worth porting, IMO.

The stuff that made Nautilus interesting can't be done on OS X without intervention from Apple or a really creative 3rd party software developer.

Yeah... not looking so hot.

Why is it so cool to see Linux jargon on the Mac?

OK so I admit it isn't the most stunning GUI out there, but it's perfectly suited and subtle enough for daily usage in a working environment. Exactly like QNX that was released today (wich I like very much!!!) I get the feeling if I had posted screenshots of QNX, I would've had the same negative feedback

I didn't know it was the default Gnome GUI, but whatever it is, I'd still like to use is in OS X...

I kinda like QNX, but this Crux look seems too similar. Thats why I wondered why you posted.

couldn't the author of QNX just alter his theme and make a crux one? how hard would that be?

I don't think it's worthy of OS X, but it's not the worst idea I've heard around here.

There have been so many port requests. Virtually none of them are filled.

Well, I'd say we need a gnome-ish theme for osx. and this one looks good.

I think it's an ok UI, but if someone's gonna go after it I'd say do a TOTALLY ORIGINAL eazel theme...

Google has buckets of eazel screenshots and I'm sure someone could do it...

Nope, not gonna do it, if it's gonna be done someone else is gonna hafta do it. QNX was hard enough, I've got other themes in my head and I don't think it'd be very cool to see my theme with a new toolbar and someone else's name on it.
