Maybe, but not that one... That's like too Windows. Maybe I'll design a good minimal theme soon...

Minimal themes for Mac OS X? HELL YEAH!
I would love to have that one, and more minimal themes ( OS6 too ) available for X.

Indeed, I also have had a tan (more coffee) color variant planned but I'm not going to work on it until Meteora v1.0 is out. I'm also not positive if I'll keep it quite as dark as it is. Those who requested a tan Watercolor is this what you had in mind?...

I love the idea of more minimalistic themes on OS X, but lets not make them "Windowsy".
Lets keep the Mac feel, with added minimalism, like OS 6 as said before.

actually i started working on a classix port but it doesnt work right because there have to be borders around the windows. i am a little hesitant to post screenshots because i didnt ask permission....i was just doing it for fun. i did the titlebar, some buttons, and window backgrounds, but thats as far as i got. if anyone wants to get permission from the authors (gigatexel & saintdark) i would be happy to give them the files.

You want minimal?
That looks nice IMO:
No title bar here, but I'm sure creative minds would come up with something cool
Anyone looking for "inspiration" for a minimal theme can always take a look at this site:

I'm actually working on an idea for another minimal OS X theme as we speak, I'll try to get screen shots up soon.

I really like it...very simple and elegant. I would love for someone to port this theme.
Carbon...I LOVE the tan version of Watercolor! That color is great...it might be even greater if you lightened it VERY little, but I'm fine with the way it looks. Sweet.

If someone is going to port it, please please make the lightning direction 90 degree. Everything in OS X is 90 degree so making it 120 degree will threw it away.
BTW, Blue/Graphite variation (like in FCP) would be super nice!

What would you think they need to look like?
This is just an idea I spit out so I want suggestions too.

Me too. Mac Guru's concept is not bad, but it's definitely another approach to "minimalism".

You can find litestep themes at www.deskmod.com
They've got mostly windows related stuff, but they do have a konfabulator section as well.

For an OS9 look in X, just use Classic Platnum. Minimalist enough for me

I really dig this. I like the progress bars. It's something different from what's out there. The only thing I'm not wild about are the boxes next to the widgets in the title bar. They detract from the actual widgets.

GTK is the devil. If there is anything that can not be said for Linux it sure is pretty. I have never liked any look that oyu could give linux and all the themes available merely detract from its ugliness rather than make it look better. For the love of all that is Mac, themers never make a linux-like theme for the Mac. In ideals and purpose linux is our complete opposite, and did I mention its ugly too?
