If I use Find from the Finder and make the Find window inactive I get this annoying 1 pixel black line across the bottom of the push button. It's also on the popup buttons but I haven't edited those yet. Any ideas?

Check the transparency masks for the corresponding PXM's. I had this problem when I first made Watercolor... it ended up being that the transparency mask was either one pixel too tall or that instead of having a solid black mask, parts of the mask were a very dark grey which will still let unwanted parts of the opaque resource through.

Maybe you changed the sizes of the images from the original? I suspect that Carbon buttons are probably very picky about their image sizes.

For any of those still wondering, we discussed this on the irc channel and determined this to be an isolated issue w/ the Find dialog box in the Finder... it appears in many themes and there doesn't seem to be much that can be done about it unless you are absolutely obsessed with perfection and use the exact same image resource sizes when designing your theme that Apple used in Aqua (I don't mean actually pixel size, but the displayed area of your inactive resource states...) Blah blah, basically don't worry about it.
But if you know something I don't know and have a simply fix go ahead and enlighten us please.

I could absolutely not care less if my Find dialog has a black line in it, but I'm curious about the problem.
"I don't mean actually pixel size, but the displayed area of your inactive resource states..."
Do you mean that you can't change the pixel size of the inactive widgets? Or do you mean that you can't change the amount of space on disk that the images require for storage in the Extras.rsrc file? If it's the latter, that's überlame on Apple's part...
What are "inactive resource states"?

Even Aqua has this problem so don't worry about it. It's the same with the Copy dialog for example. This is a cosmetic problem with the Finder and nothing you can do anything about.

Yeah, I know all about the Copy dialog problems. My buttons were getting cropped off the top. I swear Apple just cannot be consistant on how they display the GUI.

I fixed the problem. Smeger's suggestion seems to be true, the inactive button state for carbon push buttons displays the weird graphical glitch if it's too big. So what I ended up doing was editing all the Fill B/T and Caps B/T pxms and making them one pixel height shorter on the bottom.
=) Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
