I'm currently using ThemeChanger to swap themes, it's been working fine but I've been told that Duality will also allow me to overhaul all icons (except Finder toolbar) and that is something TC doesn't appear to support.

I want to know the safest way to go from one theme changer to another because if my system gets hosed then it's a major pain in the rear to get back to a useable state again. (8600 running Jaguar, USB peripherals that don't work right in OS 9 and a Radeon that black screens until X begins to boot eliminating access to such useful features as fsck and single user mode)

I've still got remnants of Duality 3 around and I'd like that fully gone before trying to install D4.

Could anyone tell me exactly what Duality3 and ThemeChanger installed and where so I can ditch them both and start clean with 4?

I hear D4 is "safe", how so? What makes it different then ThemeChanger in that respect?

Thanks for any help.

Get Aqua Fix, that would start you out like you've never installed a theme ever.

Theme changing will never be 100% safe. If I was you I'd just change the Extras.rsrc file myself and leave all the other smaller customizations alone.
