Hi all,

I'm completely and absolutely addicted to customizing my OS in every way possible - caught this bug when i moved to Linux a few years ago, and with OS X it only got worse

Anyways, I've tried so many tools that allow me to customize various aspects of OS X, and I was wondering if ppl out there know of anything else (Free!!!) that I'm missing.

Here's what I got now:

*MacBoot for boot images
*Candy Bar for icons
*Asticones and FinderIconCM for more icons
*Mighty Mouse for cursors
*Metalifizer for aqua tweaking (when not running themes, which happens when I try enough themes that I start missing Aqua, or when no theme changer works properly - see my previous post about using Installer.app ...)
*SafarIcon for Safari theming
*Minimize in Place hack applied (LOVE IT! )
*ClearDock for tweaking the Dock
*WindowShadeX for custom window shadows/transparency

Is there anything esle to customize?!

Oh, and btw, anyone who uses MIP hack out there knows why after I applied it my menu bar extras started being drawn with huge shadows and blurred fonts? MenuMeters, CeePeeYou, and Apple's own work fine, but the rest is messed up ... maybe it's for the best, since I've had so many problems with menu bar extras before (updating OS X/ switching themes ... )

p.s. if anyone is interested, here's a page of my OS X screenies:

Uploading these to ResEx or DeskMod is a pain, so I just made my own page let me know what you think!

I heard about MIP last year... and a while back I installed it. It looks cool, and I like the concept, but in reality it just doesnt function well. I keep my desktop very organized, and having little windows all over just annoyed me.

90% of the time i keep my innactive apps hidden.

hmmm, I actually thought MIP helped me organize my desktop better - I used to use the WindowShadeX shading feature (something i got used to on Linux) but i think MIP beats that. I'm not a big fan of putting running apps in the dock - the dock is for app launching for me, not temp storage ... If there were 2 docks, and minimized apps went to the other one, that'd be awesome (like Windowmaker, which is a relative of Aqua/Quartz I guess) But as it is now, I think MIP is a great idea, unless you open very manny apps at once, and after you minimize them, you never move the little windows around ... I suppose it could get cluttered then. But I only have 2 or 3 apps (iChat, iTunes, and maybe something else) minimized on my desktop, so it looks nice and clean. Hiding apps is a good way of dealing with clutter, but then I sometimes forget what's running, even with the "hidden apps dimmed in the dock" feature, and I have to look thru the dock to find what I need. MIP makes this much easier.
But then again, to each his own, right?

Which shot? It'd be either Meteorologist or WeatherPop - I never used anything else as far as I can remember. Right now, (Screenshot20) I'm running Meteorologist in the Dock mode - I got sick of having troubles with the menubar ...
