I was using SS Studio Pro before upgrading to Panther. Everything looks fine, but in Adium my tabs look really funky (still have the SS Studio Pro tabs, which don't look very good with the new tab format). Is there anyway I can get plain old Panther tabs?

Are you saying you applied the Studio Pro theme while in Panther?

I think that many of us learned the hard way to allways revert back to the defualt Aqua before upgrading the OS. I know things like this have happend to me a number of times, before that rule really sunk in.
If you were on 10.2 i'd say use AquaFix, and it'll all be a-ok. But since you're on a preview of 10.3 that is probably not comptatable with AquaFix, you're most likely S.O.L.
Maybe Swiz or Max could help you... but you might just be screwed.

Hmm, the weird thing is that everything else was replaced with the new Aqua theme except the tabs just look weird. Maybe it's just Adium 2.0, who knows.

I think it's because Apple is no longer using tabs maybe... the new Aqua context bar buttons must be shifted down from where tabs would have been originally - perhaps this is the problem (?)

Believe it or not, a reboot fixed it. I guess it was just one of those weird things. Thanks guys!

I am unaware of this problem. I've never reverted to Aqua before upgrading and have never had any problem (except for the updates foisting Aqua on me). What exact problems have people experienced, just some stuff not matching? That happens all the time with themes doesn't it? I know if you applied an old theme AFTER installing an update you could run into stuff like missing widgets in metal apps, but never heard of problems applying an update after installing a theme.

I had something worse than that happen... I had a theme installed (I dunno what) while on 10.2.0... I did a mega combo update to jump straight to 10.2.4 but didn't revert back to Aqua. Next thing I knew, my menubar items were all gone. No problem I thought, I would just go through System Preferences and turn them back on... but that didn't work. After several days of stressing, Max told me to use AquaFix, and that fixed it perfectly. So from now on, I always revert to Aqua just in case. And that isn't an isolated case... I know of at least two other people who had the exact same problem as me (losing their menubar items after doing a system upgrade).

I hope you're aware that there's no upgrade path from the developer builds of Panther to the GM of Panther.

Then how do Developers upgrade... wiping their drives? (And how do you know already?)

There was no real problem going from the dev build's of Jag to the final (yep I ran them two, right from the WWDC preview version). You just had to change the Version string somewhere, if I remember.

Well, it does state in the Read Before Installing file, and in the ReadMe during installation, that you will not be able to upgrade to GM Panther from this Developer Preview.
When I get a chance I'll take a screenshot, or just write down verbatim what it says.
