Just practicing the art of OverHype... please don't take me too seriously and tell me that no themer has ever changed the course of history and I should do something that's actually important with my life!

I thought there would be a lot of interest in making cursors with all the excitement that surrounded the introduction of MightyMouse but it seems like a few people made a couple of them as simple and invisible as possible and then that was the end of the hype. Maybe all people really wanted was cursor shadows on old machines.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Nah, there's still a steady stream of submissions to the ResExcellence cursor archive. It's slowed down since release, of course, but it's still steady.
And since we're on topic anyway, thought I'd let everyone know that Mighty Mouse 1.0.1 is currently in beta testing and will probably be released in a week or so.

Is that picture an animated gif that Camino has killed or do all the states look exactly alike? (alias, forbidden, etc.)
If so, the pointer doesn't appear to provide any feedback to the user which is something I like about OS X pointers.
Maybe the Ibeam should be a bomb or a missle?

Yeah, they all look alike except for the wait and the Ibeam. The Ibeam is transparent so you can see thru it while you type and the wait one looks so cool when it's animated smoothly that I don't even mind when programs hang anymore, and as for the others, it drives me insane to see my cursor changing all the time. My theme is like that too.... Theme elements don't switch shadng or color or transparency etc all the time.... I like things to be a little more stable looking.... like they are real objects... not animations.

Nice cursor but it's not exactly informative. You should add some kind of status such as copy, illegal, etc.

I give credit to all the mouse cursor creators, I could never do such a job. However, that said, IMHO most of what is available at Resexcellence are too busy, big and look cumbersome. We need more simple minded, small and simple cursors...for us small, simple minded people!
Cheers!
