Hi !.... I have this problem on my G4/400 with JAGUAR 10,2,6 (Only ) I dont have 9,2,2 in my mac. When I want to write a folder name (In the desktop) with SPANISH WORDS Ej: Canción, in the Desktop the word appears like this
Canci´on..... the same with Español apears like this Espan~ol....
I try to changing the SYSTEM LENGUAGE to SPANISH (becouse I alway use in ENGLISH) but NOTHING, in SCRIPT use ROMAN and SPANISH TEX BEHAVIORS..... and NOTHING !!!!
Please HELP ME !!!!

In System Preferences -> International -> Input Menu and check Character Palette. It will appear in the menubar. Click it and find the accented letters you need.

creo que debes de abrir "disk utility" primero y verificar los permisos del disco duro. una vez los verifiques, de todas maneras reparalos, eso si eres el usuario primario, luego trata lo que te dijeron aqui, es muy posible que funcione, pero de lo contrario, deberias instalar el sistema en español, ya que seria lo unico que no fallaria, a pesar de que el dialecto sea en caracteres mexicanos y españoles... espero que te sirva de algo mi ayuda, sludos desde Puerto Rico!

Muchas gracias por tu ayuda.... voy a tratar de hacer eso....
pero ni loco instalo el systema de nuevo... tengo todos los programas recien puestos a punto. y como sabras lleva mas o menos 7 horas hacer todo eso.

oye! para que usas tu mac? te podria ayudar mas , si me dices a que te dedicas con ella.
que tipo de mac tienes?
necesitas programas o algo asi?
cuenta conmigo, yo se lo duro que se nos hace a los latinos lidiar con una macintosh. llevo usandola desde el 1987

Thanks !!! to all of you !
I trashed all my LUCIDA Family fonts in my HOME FOLDER and remplazed by LUCIDA FAMILY from my FONT in the SYSTEM FOLDER.
AND FIXED !!!!

Tire toda la FAMILIA TIPOGRAFICA de la LUCIDA, y en mi HOME folder... y luego la reemplaze por la LUCIDA que hay dentro de la carpeta del SISTEMA.
