I recently took the plunge and themed my Mac and I have to say , its a whole new GUI. It looks like it landed in from the year 2015. My mac looks rally slick Im running SS Power as the main GUI with some Snow E2 Icons, Xenogenesis Toolbar Icons, an Icon set called "cool folders" by Iconizer for my generic folders , G-drives for my HD Icons and Transparent Dock.

I also have a number of Max's Themes , Swizcore's and Izawa's

I wish Max would Port BBX Platinum as that them ran on my OS 9 installation until I switched to X and was my all time favourite theme until Power came along (heh, heh!)

Ive been reading about how Apple's changes to the GUI have made it next to impossible for themes for Panther, I really hope you guys can find some work arounds or Bill Bart's letter is read by understanding folks at Apple.

I really Appreciate the time you guys put into creating your works and wish to thank you wholeheartedly for a job Well done.

Keep up the good works and i'll see you around the forums.

Welcome and as a consumer of themes I wholeheartedly agree with you. These guys are some of the best talent available. It's a shame that Apple doesn't see this and hire them. Imagine if they got Swiz, Max, Billy Bart, Izawa, and Adam Betts working for them. Now there's a talent pool if there was ever one. Anyways, keep up the great work gentlemen.

Well I've gotting SSpro to run in Panther, and it looks about 98% the way it should, so I wouldn't be too pessimistic about themes in Panther.

There would be a lot more themers if theming was supported a tad more. I know I would still be doing it full time if it was. As it seems, Panther will be a bit harder to theme than Jaguar.

I think he is refering to the fact that usually people quote other peoples "sayings". Quoting one's self appears somewhat pretentious.

Ah, I see...in that case, I simply wanted to have a quote and I thought why quote someone else when I'm quite capable of creating one. So that's it, that's all.

Couple things. First off I'd like to say to themers in general and Max in particular: you ROCK. Imagine me nearly giving up hope of having a Panther theme on Jaguar because I want to duplicate the modifications I made like a more Aqua-y view widget in the Finder and squared off window corners... now where the heck am I going to find a theme that looks li...

*click*

Oh.

Secondly, if I may say so myself, what was said about Panther being much harder to theme is, in my opinion, a bit of an exaggeration. A new version of ThemePark that automatically generates mini-sized controls from your larger ones, for example, and deals elegantly with the new PNG resources and various other changes, could in the long run make Panther actually *easier* to theme than Jaguar... and that's not just paying lip service to smeger's coding prowess, formidable though it might be. It's not really that big of a deal, and I think it will be a very, very temporary setback.

Yup. Just a tad pretentious. Like when people say "you're welcome," assuming that the posters meant them

Either/or.

Think of it as you like.

As for saying you're welcome...I thought he (person who started the thread) was thanking themers and last time I checked, I make part of that group.

I am so happy that theming exists on the Mac--and even if it isn't supported, I think that the challenge of rising to the occasion makes the themes that work really special.
