Hey geniuses - has anybody figured out whether or not there are alterable resources for the oh-so-sissy label graphics in Panther? The bubbly edges and bright colors suck eggs - hard. This could have been handled so much better (with a color-tinted Aquaplastic transparent sheen or something like that)... I'm hoping this will be one of the things that we can alter when Panther hits the streets, yo'.

Could you do a mockup of this replacement you thought up? I'm interested, because Adium 2 is using labels now to describe buddy states, and your version of labels sounds pretty cool.

Well I haven't really thought anything up yet - just saying that a crystaline overlay or something would've been prettier. Why would anybody use Adium over iChat?

Heh, I don't know if I'd go so far to say iChat sucks but Adium has a better user interface and more features (ignoring iChat A/V of course).

I still think Adium makes the best use of Dock notification that I've seen in an OS X app.

When will 2.0 finally get out there? I've seem some screens and it looks good.

BBX, Adium 2 has come a loong way in the last couple weeks. You'll be surprised. It's taken some of the best features from iChat too, like the status switching

We're kinda getting off topic here but I don't use chat enough to need anything beyond what iChat gives me... plus I like the pretty word bubbles and the silly smilies and the funny noises (hee). I used Adium before iChat came out... I think I remember liking it.
