Damn catsank - do you just enjoy being annoying??? I have not seen one constructive post from you in any of the threads ... just your smart-ass pictures ... STOP POLLUTING THE FORUMS! We all know you like SS studio theme - thanks for sharing that for the 50th time. This thread happens to be about something else, though ...
I think there should be a separate forum for your posts, seriously - so most people would not have to suffer through reading them all ...

hitting people, kicking spherical obects, fairy stories, CLI and physics - you need me man, you need me bad !

Am a little taken aback by your use of profanity and inherent animosity.
I don't think I have ever posted anything even verging
on the anger of your last two posts - You must be a very serious man
-with alot of arduous ideas to convey.
I feel this is an important hub for OSX themes and their growth
and we all enjoy seeing their germination - I have never posted with
profanity or in-spite - this I feel gives me as much right to
contribute reverently or humorously to posts as you.
But if Mac Guru tells me to go fly a kite, I'll listen to the man.
- but above all iFix Rene - I feel your pain.

AAARGGGGHHHHHH ... there's just no way of getting rid of you i guess.
Sorry to break your bubble catsank, but i really don't think i need you in fact i'm pretty sure i need you to GO AWAY AND NEVER COME BACK but if you could just stop posting those annoying pictures, that'd be a start.
And what do you have against my hobbies? you don't even seem to know what half of them are ...

That's just great! I clicked there to see what it was, and now not only can't I see all of cantsank's hilarious posts, but the formatting of the whole page is messed up! How do I undo that???

would you guys who are attacking catsank please go on chat or somewhere and talk about your small penises...this is not the PLACE...if he bothers you block him out for gawd's sake...these snipes, i think bother people more than anything else so it's you who are disruptive not catsank...he has never bothered me but you guys sure are!
by the way...anyone who tells someone to ****off deserves an abuse report and one has been sent to mac guru and also to the administrator! <edit> and to macnn <edit>...THINK before you post anything!
don't bother to flame me or tell me to mind my own business...i've chased a few bothersome peeps from here so others and newbies can post in peace without getting slapped down.

user center > edit ignore list
this is a problem though. why is ignore screwing up the formatting? is safari to blame or the coding of the page? any way to fix it?

It's not Safari, because I'm using Camino.

quandarry, wtf is your problem? do you always jump into a conversation with an insult like that? btw, i thought this conversation was over ...
...this is not the PLACE...if he bothers you block him out for gawd's sake...
I was annoyed by his comments, others were too. We expressed our feelings, catsank answered. You were not bothered by him, so you should not be a part of this conversation.
by the way...anyone who tells someone to ****off deserves an abuse report and one has been sent to mac guru and also to the administrator! <edit> and to macnn <edit>...THINK before you post anything!
This sounds like kindergarten dude ...

Are you threatening me? And for no good reason? I do not like that at all ...
I did not feel like I was posting in peace with catsank's silly posts getting in my way all the time. And then I WAS slapped down by him when I told him how I feel ... And I AM a newbie. So it seems you are discriminating against me?! So you are amused by catsank and you'll chase me out?
I don't know who the hell you think you are, but you got no freaking right to talk to me like that.
Good day

Come on guys! Must everything end up being about attacking each other. Grow up all you guys who are bickering. There are still many of us who stop by to see if any new themes or updates to themes have been added. Let's try to be civil or if not just ignore the other person. Trying to get in the last words will usually end up getting the thread LOCKED.

i honestly couldn't give a rats [censored] about catsanks comments but the images sure bug me. If there's something I _don't_ want to be wasting my bandwidth on it would be those damn pictures he links.
if there's rules for the size of a sig, there should be rules for posting an image in EVERY D*MN post you make. quit messing with those that are on dialup.

TIME OUT!!!!
Catsank, if you do not have anything to say that will add to the TOPIC, please find a new thread where your comments will be helpful. So far, you've been posting nothing relevant to this topic.
Everyone else, PLEASE refrain from interacting with anyone in such a way that will make this thread go further off topic. Thank you.

I keep waiting on these forums for someone to be the better man/woman and try to get the discussion back on topic. I find it odd that because the moderator's intervention was, in your opinion, not good enough, you respond by threatening him and others and basically adding to the problem. That is, indeed, quite a quandarry. Oh, and with a nickname like Olórin, one would think you'd show a bit more wisdom yourself... you're not living up very well to your namesake.
This was a good thread with a lot of good ideas, and whoever you each of you see as the agressor or the antagonist here, you are letting that person win if you continue on the path you're all going. I wouldn't blame Mac Guru for just shrugging his shoulders and banning the lot of you, as that seems to be what you collectively want. I know several of you make very constructive and useful posts (quandarry, for example, I think the theme you posted in another thread recently is absolutely awesome), and that makes it even more ridiculous that we're doing this here at all.
There, now that's said.
I, personally, like everything about the new G5 except for the holes... I think they make it look like a $3000 cheese grater. Also, holes being high-contrast and all, they make very bad backgrounds... you might be able to work them (scaled down a bit, perhaps) into things like separator lines or titlebar caps (or tab panels even), but I'd stay away from them for the most part. I rather like what Cerbero's done... what do you guys think: should a G5 theme also try to incorporate the plastic highlight look (like on the new Panther "X"), or is that a bad idea aesthetically?

Thanks Phoenix. Well said. To answer your question, I think something similar to PantherMetal from I'mDaMac would be nice. I know that PantherMetal is still somewhat up-in-the-air at the moment but if a G5 theme were to continue the ideas set forth by I'mDaMac or Cerbero it would be nice.

Ok.
Looking at the effort for a variation of the G5 inspired theme from mutiple people thus far,_I am impressed with all of the variations.
My question is... What is the progress status now?
Patcarla: I'm lovin' your TibookG5 and I can't wait to use that.
IDM: I am in love with the Panther series so far. Where do you stand on progress?
I understand that this is a work in progress, but I want to say that I do appreciate your efforts, believe me, they don't go unnoticed.

ATM it looks as if they've packed up and gone home, if the thread deviates in that direction again, it'll get locked.
Thanks.

this (these) theme (s) where showing real promise, now the thread has took a turn for the worse. I hope development is continuing, and they don't end up like that 'cel shaded' theme that started here, and now is a Windows only theme

IMHO: I believe that this is the time that we move forward on this thread. I, for one want to see the finished products without further distraction. Although, I feel compelled to say that lately there have been threads that have spiraled way out of context.
I also think that it is time to go back to the meat of the matter. Now personally, I would like to see some more great work from the talent that is here on this board, and by those that have volunteered to dedicate their time and effort into making a slick, usable and enjoyable GUI for their system.
I for one can't theme worth a DAMN, but you people can, and since I can deal with my failings, I can also realize that there is a great wealth of talent here. More Importantly, I have enjoyed each and every theme that I've downloaded from the people on this board.
I only wish I had the know-how to make some of the themes that we have out now. SS Studio Pro, Panther Pro, the upcoming Panther Metal are all examples of that. Max's themes, Carbon's Watercolor, are a tribute to the ability demonstrated by these talents. Patcarla--I can't wait to see your next theme.
To all those that are working hard on the next BIG G5 theme, I implore you to continue until you have a finished product ready for all of us who wish to test it and tell you how marvelous it will become. If you are ready to move forward, then so am I.
Thanks for reading, and keep themeing.

Someone asked for a status update, so here's it for my concept;
I haven't gotten anywhere in making it into an actual theme. It's just too bothersome. I suppose I'm too lazy to learn ThemePark thouroughly.
If anyone who has more experience with theming wants to pick it up, I have the PSDs, and I can tell you how to exactly copy some effects for new elements. I only ask that it be someone who really wants to make it a high quality theme, and not something that looks kind of slapped together.
Send me a PM if you're interested.
I know some other people tried to take it somewhere too, but I haven't heard from them so...

Not sure how this would work, if the buttons are possible to do etc, as I haven't played around much with theme creation...
Nice. I was wondering what it would look like with a tad more contrast tho? Seems a touch monochromatic at the moment.
