How do I change the resource file in iTunes4 with Themepark? I tried modifying the "browse" buttom so that it would have a skull instead of that stupid eye. I would copy and paste the pic in and out of Photoshop, then I save dup. of rsrc file and replace with original.
So I start iTunes up, but still get original "browse" icon! What do I need to do? Would there even be a website from a fellow MacNNer perhaps that has tutorials or actual working mods of iTunes or Quicktime? All help welcome... Thanx-

Ive never attempted to work with iTunes mods but with other areas of GUI tweaking you will usually find old pieces which are not used inside an app. My guess is that if you keep looking you will find the same looking thing somewhere else in the app. If not, it may be one of those dreaded iTunes features were stuck with.

I also haven't tried modding iTunes, but what Swiz says is probably correct. Another thing to look at is whether you made your change in iTunes.rsrc or the localized variant, Localized.rsrc (in the English.lproj folder). If the resource is present in both, Localized.rsrc will take precedence.

If you figure it out, post back with what the problem is so other people can do it.

It's ID 470 under "PICT" in the iTunes.rsrc file.

Edit: Actually, there are two. The other is ID 2470, which is the graphite version. So if you replaced that but had the "Aqua" appearance on, nothing would change, & vice versa.

I can't believe I overlooked that! I didn't change the Graphite version. Thanx!
