Here is preview one of the G5 theme conceived by Cerbero.

I have applied the suggestions for the "holed" elements from the OSX screenshots thread.

Those widgets are the most gorgeous things ever.

My $0.02:
  • Could the buttons be given a little more depth? (Either poking out or recessed in more)... it almost looks like a simply 1-pixel stroke that makes up the border (I know there's more to it than that, but that's what it looks like at first glance).
  • I think the buttons need to be a bit larger (in both width and height) - They just don't look to comfortable!
  • Something's not quite right about the green... it doesn't look as realistic as it should, but I honestly for the life of me can't pinpoint exactly why. I think it might be the particular shade being used... maybe add a bit of yellow to it?

Otherwise, as always, excellent job, Kevin!

Um... Yes.

Man, is that hot!

Will look great with not only the new G5s, but with all the metal PowerBooks, too.

Blah, theme preview threads make me depressed... I want to see theme releases!

I like this one, the scroll bars are a little weird when they're inactive though.

Why even bother still making themes for 10.2?
Why bother buying a new Mac, something better is always coming...

Why buy gasoline at 1.23 a Gal when it'll be cheaper tomorrow...

Cause it's all we got right now, buuuuuuuudy.

I can understand that it's right around the corner, but that doesn't mean all theming should cease until then.

Most themers won't make theme's for 10.3 till they get the final copy in their hands and that may be a while for some.

I love it! The buttons could be a little bit bigger and try sharpening some of the metal-ness... it looks kinda dull. I don't know how you would do that or exactly how much work is involved... but it looks "smokin" right now too.

YOU DA MAN SWIZ...

Oh speaking of themes.. I can't get ThemeChanger to install "Studio Pro Swiz Style". I'm running ThemeChanger 0.5 (v15).

The theme looks ultra-sweet, but too bad it's once again a medium-dark grey theme... Swiz Studio Pro, Panther Pro, Titanium4 and now this one. I know there's a concept here, based on the new G5, but how about a lighter "aluminum" version too?

And it's so sad that the yet-unreleased Panther already claimed the life of so many great themes. I will observe a minute of silence in the memory of Meteora and Mirai

mrbiiggy2:

Those arent inactive scrolls, theyre just the scroll wells when there are no scrollbars.

LeeG:

The menubar was deisgned by Cerbero and it looks very nice, I'll post a screenie later today.

FB Eye:

Ive been considering this too. It will probably happen.

LeeG:

Its actually not metal, just a gradient. I will be playing with it though for a variant later.

Im going to be reuploading a new version of Studio Pro which installs properly today.

Looks nice, but I'm wondering about some stuff.
The horizontal gradient works with finder buttons, but they wont work with all the regular buttons. What have you got planned for that? I'd say that the best thing would be to change the gradient to be vertical so that it's consistent.
Also, the vertical inactive scroll track should be flipped horizontal because now it looks upside down.

Does the hi-light color have to be green? it would look much better as a blue. Other than that it's a very nice looking theme. I'd like to see the scroll-bars too.

I like the blue too. Actually, as far as LED-glow...something like the blue glow LED light of Shinobi would be awesome!

Regarding the blue requests, since I am using the green from X Serve inspiration I will keep it but when you select Blue in General Prefs it will turn all green elements to blue, conversly selecting Green in General Prefs will give you, well, green elements.
Fair Enough? Besides I too really like the blue look.

Well the traffic light colors make theme theme look like a strange random colored race car theme, there has to be some color coordination here, traffic lights and green just don't seem to match the metal look, nothing matches cold metal quite like a cold blue.
"ANYTHING but another light grey and baby blue theme!!!"
There aren't manny "grey and baby blue" themes you know, Shinobi looks totaly different and is more on the black side.

Doesn't the G5 have a white power button light? maybe if you can get a white glowing look?

Well Ive got all the blue version of all the green elements created now, I also went back through all the green elements and made them more LED-like as Mac Guru suggested. Looks VERY hot. Thanks for the kick in the ass.

A release date is totally up in the air right now, My wedding is in 5 weeks so it will be before then because after the wedding Im gone for 10 days in Maui.

As usual I will probably post progress info and screenshots every fifteen minutes because Im compulsive like that.

So here is a set of previews:

and...

Looking for some cool suggestions for the scroll bar; the one Cerbero sent me used a gradient that isnt possible with OSX.

Needs more depth. It looks too flat... The title bar is nice and 3D looking... and everything else is flat... is there a way to make the widgets round like the title bar? That would rock...

Also... The scroll bar doesn't look right.

Wow great Job!
I like the blue elements better as they remind the inside of the G5.
About the scrollbar, may be you could do something that reminds the shape of the handles.
Anyway, I can't way for the release

swiz, this theme looks incredible! Makes me want a spiffy G5 to run it on.

I'm gonna use this theme anyway, but I think it would be cool if you give the Apple menu logo the glow (green or blue) treatment as well. Makes it stand out like the special menu it is. Just a suggestion, thanks for the awesome work!

Any chance of making the finder bar match the window title bars? The flat looks a bit out of place IMHO....

Alot of the requests sound great and will probably be used, but used in a variant. I really do want to stay as true to Cerbero's concept as I can for the initial release. So keep them coming.

Swiz-

Just an idea for the apple menu-

Why not do a recessed apple, like you have, but when the menu is clicked, you get an outer glow around that recessed apple? Not sure exactly how to describe it, but it would look like there was some sort of bright LED what was mostly blocked by the apple, with just a ring around it of light that shines through.

I really don't like the progress bars. They're either too round or just not perfectly round. Anyway they look out of place.

The scroll thumb looks a wee bit wrong. Maybe darken it up or make it smaller (if thats even possible, I forget). Aside from that I know what theme I'll be using
-"I don't believe in God. "
"That doesn't matter. He believes in you."

-"I'm not agnostic. Just nonpartisan. Theological Switzerland, that's me."
