hey all. just got my powerbook last weeks, and love it to bits, it's fantastic. i downloaded snes9x and and enjoying some of my old favourites on it. thing is, the icon is of an american style snes, and, being a european, i want a pic of the PAL snes to bring back the memories. anyway, i found a suitable pic, and in photoshop elements removed the background so the snes was on a transparent background, then saved in a variety of formats (bmp, tiff, and others i forget) and tried to past into the file properties box of snes 9x. they all worked, except the background was not seethrough, it was either white or black, depending on the format. so what can i do about this? any help is much appreciated.

lau_lau_lau
save the file again - this time save as a transparent GIF or
a generic PSD (without the background layer) and try

Pic2Icon :
http://www.sugarcubesoftware.com/sw/index.php?pic2icon

or

use QuickImageCM 2.1 on it.
http://www.pixture.com/macosx.php

May be an easier way - but this usually works:)

Normally sushiism, I would agree but Pic2icon includes anti-aliasing + drop shadowing,
etc.. which make for an excellent desktop icon - Gif or not :)
