someone please help!
my menu extras - not the apple ones, but meteorologist and desktop manager - have stopped working properly. they appear all blurred and look very ugly in the menubar ...
now this is not the first time this has happened, and i've read about other people havig the same problem - but until now, i've found fixes for this. usually aquafix works, if not then a os x combo update. well, i've run both this time - ran 10.2.8 combo update (i had 10.2.5 running) and then ran aquafix after that did not help - no result!
i had max's AA theme installed before, but it ran fine for a few days before this happened after a logout ... now i installed AA again with the menuextras disabled. the menubar is still messed up ...
if anyone knows how i can fix this, please let me know! thanks!

I've heard that Metallifizer could cause blurry 3rd party menu extras - try disabling it.

Yup, it's more than likely Metallifizer. (I don't know anything else that could possibly cause this)
Just go to the APE prefpane, choose Metallifizer, then go to the " Exclude" tab... then, add Meteorologist and Desktop Manager to that list (and any other 3rd-party menu extras), logout/restart, and all will be well.

Yeah, that's exactly it.
Remember, If you are using "Synergy" you will need to quit it, go to the .prefpane/Show Package Contents/Contents/Resources/Synergy.app
Duplicate the "Synergy.app", drag it to your desktop, go to the "Metallifizer" Exclude list and navigate to your duped "Synergy.app", choose it (from the desktop) and close out of System Preferences. Now re-name your duplicate to Synergy and replace the original with your duplicate.
Log out/in.
