I fell in love with transparency lately after have mac aquarium running as my desktop and using transparency in terminal and proteus. Oh yeah, with Konfabulator also.

Now, I can only hope that there is a hack to make all background windows transparent! Not only that, it'll make my active window stand out.

I think WindowshadeX from http://www.unsanity.com can do just that and more.

Wow, really cool. Didn't even know windowshade does all that now. :-D
I thought the minimize window in place was a left out feature from a beta version of MacOS X, which I remember Steve Jobs demo-ing.

I'll give it a try and if it meets my needs, it'll get my $10. I just don't think it's automatic transparency like I wanted it. All windows are automatically transparent except for the active window. I'm sure it's easy for unsantity to add that feature.

Thanks!

I hear it works fine except for the minimize in place right now. But we'll have to wait for the ape update for Panther.
