Another titlebar and more new widgets. Maybe OSX is codename for 10 simultaneous GUI's?

Im not all up in arms about it, I just know that around here people get rowled up when Apple steps outside of Aqua and thought I'd stir up some excitement. Not knee jerk but admittedly provokeful (is that a word). I do apologize

All,
I'm not a GUI expert and dont' even play one on TV...but Swiz is kind of right..it IS fugly.
Isn't there a way that Apple could have given the Win users a menu without invading the app space? Couldn't they have left that space blank and added a separate space at top? It really does look like @#$%. Even though the WinX peeps don't know about Apple HIG, wasn't there a way for Apple to do this without looking so fugly?
Not flame bait, just a question from an interested observer...
TIA.

I really wish they would have used the traffic lights for the buttons. Would have been a better Apple Branding message.

I got it for VPC and it even detected my shared music form my Mac iTunes. Apple did a quite good job of making a decent port of it, I can't say much for the GUI though since it's never been that great looking.

What's with the weird half eject/half music note button?
On the UI front, it looks fine for a Windows app. All kinds of apps roll their own GUIs and Apple's looks no worse.
The other way one can tell it's Windows is the crappy looking font rendering, I hate it so very, very much.
I know there's ClearType but it looks funky on CRTs.

I'm guessing iPod eject button, it is in the same place and quite similar to the Mac versions iPod eject button.

Just supports my theory that Apple's GUI design team has been taken over by sleepy one-eyed armless space monkeys... Windows conventions aside, this could have been done a lot better.

It's not that ugly, have you seen MusicMatch or Winamp ? Apple tried to make it as clean as possible and I think they did a great job, they could use the standard scrollbars but that would just make things worse...

What's with the weird half eject/half music note button?
That's the button you use to disconnect from someone else's shared music library. In the picture, you can see that Garry Sheil's Music is selected. Mac iTunes is exactly the same.

I love the slogan on Apple.com though.
"HELL FROZE OVER"
I just about died.

Wow your condescending post is quite useful
Read my initial post and you'll see the topic is totally tongue in cheek; most people get that.

well i think they feel they had to get this out the door like QUICK...
remember their original goal was the end of the year but pressure from competition i think pushed this up...
there are already complaints about almost impossible window resizing at full screen size...
the window menu bar looks a bit odd [i like the way quicktime handled this] and type handling by windows make the interface look crappier than it really is...by the end of the year most things should be worked out...

I just made a little button thing to help get everyone using iTunes:

Feel free to download it and use it on your site or something.
