Ya the old one worked fine with Panther, it's the theme formats that need to be updated just a bit.

It worked for me (with no stuck sheets) but when I quit the app I temporarily had a black hole where the window was as well as a long black block across the top of the screen until it refreshed.

Anyone else seen this? I'm also curious about the removal of the MD5 ... was this some sort of check on resource integrity? If so, it would be nice to have it or something similar back :-)

I might be interested or know someone who might be intereseted in doing your website if your unhappy with it.

Thanks for the update, but I have a question... Will there ever be a ThemeChanger 1.0? If not, 0.6 will work just fine for me...

Oh and one more question... Ever think of designing an Icon for ThemeChanger? I normally change it from the static application Icon to one of the BeOS items (the Palm on the Cradle with the arrows on it. It always seemed just right...maybe it is just me...)

It is probably your Stuff It. Do a search on the forums and you'll find the patch. It is a well known problem.

If you upgraded Stuff-It, after extraction, the programs quit right after you start it.

Goodluck.

Nifty icon, but the gloves look a bit too big IMHO.

Maybe someone can come up with something that includes a welding tool? Or something along those lines?

Just my 5 cents

Mine crashes too. What's a stuffit patch? Is that when stuffit was released last month and then again a week later? Or is there some kind of patch that everyone needs to apply? I thought the patch was only for the people doing the stuffing, not the unstuffing anyway? No?.

I found it crashes with weird DTLA themes. If you open up the bundle's contents and change the main.themescripts you can fix it. You'll need to change <10.2> or <ThemeStep> to <10.3> for Panther. Make sure you check the same tag at the bottom of the file. After I did that to my theme, it's working fine yet again.

If you are having issues, please consider actually filing support requests/bug reports at http://sourceforge.net/projects/themechanger/. Or just sit here and complain.

You've got a point but I think the complaining really did the trick! I don't know if the old developer is still helping with it or not still :-], but the latest download now works perfect for me! So nice to be able to switch and switch all day without it locking up and having to be forced to quit every other time. I LOVE themechanger.6!!!!

I should try that...

I don't seem to be able to download the source from any of the mirrors.

Also a quick question for any of the devs. Would there be a way I could suggest a new interface if I sent in the nib?

Yeah.... but I don't know if you are still working on it or not. You said you were handing it off, but some people have a hard time letting go. Are you still involved with it much, and if not, who is?

I just checked and it worked from my default mirror (HEAnet in Ireland). Also, try CVS.

Or just send an e-mail with suggestions. We'll probably set up a mailing list at some point in the future.

A bit. At the moment I'm just trying to offer guidance and advice while Woody (jail at codeservant.com) familiarises himself with the source.

Actually, now that I think about it... I was the one that originally wrote themechanger! All kidding aside though... does it work on panther at all, or is there a new version coming soon?

And as an another aside.... if people are crashing TC6 and have my Titanium6 theme in your theme folder try taking it out and see if that's the problem. The original version works fine but the stuffed version I sent to ResX doesn't so I think I've been bitten ty the Stuffit bug or something. I sent them a new version but they haven't posted it yet. If anyone knows someone at ResX that could stop the downloading of the bad copy please do it!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Well, it wasn't a stuffit bug afterall. The author of themepark found the bug in my Titanium5 theme. If you open up the main.themescript file inside the .dtla folder with TextEdit and change the <10.2.8> at the top to <10.2> it will work fine! Sorry about that everyone.

The parser should be more robust at handling malformed themes. This was a problem caused by the fact that nobody ever explained the theme formats to me, so I had to take a "best guess" approach to what was valid content for the fields.

The fact that it crashed is a bug though.

The source code to the dlta parser was released at one point.

Additionally, the ThemeKit framework contains a dlta parser.

Email me if you want a copy of the dlta parser. It was open sourced a long time ago.

I have no idea what a dlta parser is nor a ThemeKit framework (which is probably one reason why my theme had the typo) please post the link to such stuff here, or email it to me at mrtewatcomcastdotnet. Thanks!

Turns out that crash and log are the result of TP's formatting of "10.3.0" inside the mainthemescript. Change it to "10.3" and it'll work fine.

Hey Fin,
I launched ThemeChanger on my Gigabook for the first time (with no themes on the system) to create a Panther Aqua backup. It said it did but the Aqua Backup folder has nothing in it... Is this normal?
