Um...that computer is really really really old if I am not mistaken. It's not even a PowerPC.

Nevertheless, "about this mac" in the apple menu in the upper left hand corner should do it for you.

As for running virtual PC and such, I would seriously recommend getting a much newer computer. The Performa 637 is something even an inner city middle school would consider obsolete.

Macs (thankfully) don't use a BIOS. Newer Macs use something called OpenFirmware. On a Mac as old as the one you have, be thankful if you can get it to run DOS in VPC. Very thankful. That thing is ooooooold.

Yea, Macs don't have a BIOS you can configure as on the PC, because theres no need for it on this side of computing. That machine WONT run VPC, as its processor is to old. Pitch it.

In fact, if you're a PC user that wants to run PC programs, just get a PC.

Look, or search cmd-F, for "Apple System Profiler" it should tell you what you need to know.

It should be a 60x CPU in the 20 to 30Mhz range. You can find more info on it at LowEndMac.com if your really interesed. The machine is way out of date for serious use.

I hope someone paid him to take that...

Think 286 in terms of PC usefulness.
