Well I know I haven't been too involved in the community lately, sorry 'bout that. Been busy w/ college and work but you guys all know how that goes, so anyway...

I said I'd get back into themeing when Panther was out and it's out so now I've got some designing to do. First things first though, does anybody still use Watercolor or FatalE? I intend to do official ports if there is any demand but it's sort of low priority for me right now. Next... some are still holding me to Meteora (which was originally planned for Jaguar back in Spring '03), and a ton of work went into that design for several months (thanks again to those involved -- Nathan, Chuck and Jason especially). However, the expanded use of brushed metal now in OS X and the new Exposé interaction seem to go against the rather minimalistic design I was striving for with Meteora. I just don't want to beat a dead horse, and I can still go either way with that design.

So if I don't pursue Meteora, I'm likely to do one of two things... a) lose focus on themeing again and continue to get caught up in work and college or b) start developing a new interface with Panther in mind from the beginning. I still can't get past all this brushed metal now in the UI, it will make any of my original designs difficult to impliment without depending on Metallifizer (which isn't a bad thing if need be). This is my latest interface that I've been sitting on for a while now, debating whether or not I want to put up the effort to make it work in Panther:

I don't want to commit to this project quite yet, I'm just looking for general feedback (not design feedback) at this point. The only time in the very near future that I'd have time to dedicate to themeing would between December and January, after that I'll be pretty tied up in my studies again.

P.S. for those who still remember my website, the reason I never post updates there anymore is because our ftp server has some sort of corrupt permissions issue so I can't make any changes to my site or upload any new files. Hopefully it will get resolved this year but I understand my friends are just as busy as I am.

Thank you for reading

That new design is hot! I love the widgets. I'd love to see that come to Panther, if not that, at least to see some themes coming from you. I'd still use Watercolor if it were to make the transition to 10.3. I'm still looking forward to seeing some of the design elements from Meteora popping up in something eventually.

Watercolor and FatalE are my favorite themes, being able to use them is one of the few things that I miss about Jaguar,a 10.3 port would be deeply appreciated.

To be honest, I never really used FatalE nor Watercolor too much, since they were too flat. But that's just me.

But, to the good stuff:

That is, in all honesty, the sweetest theme I have ever seen! If you make that, I will swear to you that I will use that as my daily theme. Make it, pweeeeeeeeeeze!

I love the buttons, I love everything about it but the graphite in it. It's not shiny enough, that's it! make the graphite more shiny and you'll have me using it once it's done!

I would love a watercolor port also!

I'd love to see a port of FatalE. IMO, it's the only flat theme available for OS X that I like. It looks fantastic, but is still has incredible usability and feels very professional.

I like the new concept, except for some little details, but since you didn't request design feedback, I'll hold off until (if) you get things going

Very nice!
Michael: Hasn't everything been sort of discovered now by like Magellan and Cortez?

Buster: Oh, yeah yeah, those guys did a pretty good job.

Hmmm, looks nice indeed but besides the widgets, it reminds me a little too much of BBX Mercury X... like it's a light version of it

There's nothing bad about it looking a bit like a light BBX Mercury X, it's more rounded too. Like I said before the widgets and progress bar need work, but that's no biggie for a mockup.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release that theme!!! It's by far the best looking OS X theme I've ever seen, with the possible exception of Aluminum Alloy. I agree, it does look like BBX Mercury... but it's better. I've been dreaming of a theme to match the chrome Apple in Panther, and this looks like it'll complement it perfectly.

I'm more excited about this one than Omega. Please release it.

:O !

OMFG Maing! These are the droids I have been looking for. It will work wonderfully with all kinds of stuff that is already out there, and it is new in its own right.

Please release this theme.

Unfortunately, I am waiting to start themeing again in panther until there is a viable / stable / useable theme switcher.

Thank you for all of the feedback guys, much appreciated. By the sounds of it I'll probably have to make time to update FatalE and Watercolor before too long

Glad to hear you'll be updating and working on this theme. Just fix that graphite and you'll have a killer theme! I keep saying it cuz I love everything but that, and so it keeps bugging me.

Watercolor was always my favorite, along with MacQNX (which also needs to be ported). I also like that new theme you're working on.
