I very much hope this is a possibility under SS - perhaps someone from the Unsanity camp can comment as to whether or not it is possible to alter a window's titlebar to make it function like a typical (pre-dano) yellow-tab BeOS one?

What do you mean by "real port"?
Widgets on either side of the title bar text? or window borders?

I doubt the funky title-bar is doable in OS X.

swiz, I know you made a BeOS theme and even experimented with the altered "tab" look of the BeOS GUI.

What I am hoping Shapeshifter would let themers do is, round out your concept so that the title bar background was dynamic to the length of the window title text.

Sure, and why not bordered windows?
I also noticed that when I tried the Swiz version of the BeOS theme, there was a big highlighter pink strip at the right of the title bar instead of a transparent area.

I also just want to have this theme updated. It might be cool if Unsanity could augment this theme with a haxie or an addition to the windowshade haxie that could arrange your collapsed title bars in order much like BeOS with a simple key combo + click.

I see what you mean. Not about the pink strip though, thats odd. Is that with SS using the 10.2 version?

swiz, I also ran into a lot of problems using the more authentic title bar version of your beos theme, including the pink background occasionally... this was under 10.2 and I have not tried since 10.3

I was using a PowerBook G4 500 at the time.

I did not bother to file any bug reports with you because I remember it being made fairly clear that OS X (at the time) did not support such title bars and it was more of a proof-of-a-concept type theme.

I was using 10.2 and the BeOS theme right after I made the icons for you
Maybe I should use my real name in here?

I have a G4 400 with 512meg o RAM 32Meg pci radeon 7000, yadda yadda...

By the way, I would contact the guy who made the new BeOS icons sets. His icons totally own in the BeOS dept. Mine are at best, sufficient.
