Solidly out of the running, I'm going to try to finish my theme off by myself. I'm stealing Cody's idea and posting this in an effort to get some suggestions. Thanks.

Nice. I actually like your version better. Good that youre taking a concept to the point of completion

I love the fact that you're going to try completing it regardless whether you win or not. Go Cold Chrome!

I like the new tabs and the menu is awfully generic, but a bit easier on the eyes. Pity the surface isn't quite chrome anymore, heh.

The menu isnt that generic. Ive noticed that a capsule for selection in a menu has become somewhat of a trend lately (a few mockups have this kind of selector) but by no means is such a thing generic...

No, you see, the first picture with capsules is "Before", and the "After" image is the more generic non capsul menu.

In OS X can menus even be like the rounded rectangle (capsule is like an aqua button) in the first mockup?

Thanks Dan. I was just wondering about the actual shape of the menu itself, not selectors and whatnot surrounding the text. I wasnt sure if it can be anything other than a rectangle, but I guess youre right, Titanium7 shows this pretty well with an interesting use of transparency (?)

I say keep the old menus and then for the rest, go with your new & improved mockup. I really like the original menus.

Yeah, I know. The new one looks less like chrome, but if it's between that and the original "harsh" chrome, I'd pick the second for usability. Maybe a name change is in order instead. I don't know. I'll fiddle with it and see if I can find a nice medium.

And hate to break it to you, folks but the menus in the first mockup are impossible.

There is no ETA, as I haven't started putting things in ThemePark. Sorry if this was unclear earlier, but this is just a mockup from the MacThemes contest.

The after is much more usable to me -- although the original submission was one of my favorites in the running.

I hope to see it made.

The newer version is by far the better one. The menus in the first are... not pretty. At all.

Um, my only suggestion would be to make the menu selection thing rectangular. I dislike them when they're round. I'm not sure why...

On the contrary. For some reason I like them rounded.. Even though that doesn't make sense since everything else in the menus is squared. Maybe he should change the title menu selections in the menus to rounded too. I dunno, who said I knew what looks good..

I kinda like this new style. It reminds me of the ports of Max's themes on phones. Very interesting approach... That said, Im not sure if it matches a theme like this with upside down Jag tabs as buttons and other things...
