I just discovered this site yesterday. http://www.grnluvbug.com/home/home.html

The *webmistress* (Joy) is a student and does some amazing work. Her icons are so crisp and clean and colorful. A couple of her custom desktops are really cute and she has a cool boot panel, (instructions included in the download).

As much as I love the dark themes and desktops to match, it's great to have a colorful *girlie* desktop for a change. I don't think the guys will be using much from this site, but I think they can appreciate the quality of her work. Joy has an entry in the PixelPalooza contest in the CandyBar category. http://iconfactory.com/pp_listing.asp?category=CB Hers are the 2nd set. (I don't think the 3 icons shown are her best stuff, tho.)

NO! I'm not her Mother! (None of my kids are this talented.)

Whew…I was almost afraid to look, but you're right, some nice *girl* things there. (I just remembered the older connotation of *girlie* and was afraid of what I might find. LOL )

Thanx for the link!

You were fine. It was my paranoid brain that shifted into high gear. Watching to much *CSI* on TV I suppose.

Thanx again!

I really don't notice if a page is that small. Do you have dialup or something?
That site has a lot of cool desktops, too.

The question is why? The pice difference is minimal now and well worth it. 900KB is pushing it though, a site shouldn't be almost a MB unless it's flash.

Possibly because it's not available in their area. It wasn't available where I live until we found ComWavz which use a small satellite mounted on our TV Antenna..otherwise I would still be on dialup.

I pay just $14 for AT&T WorldNet dialup. It serves my purposes at home. I have high-speed at work and can also run to Starbucks or Borders with my AirPort-equipped PB when I need to grab one of those huge OS updates. I've not seen high-speed for < $40 here in Phoenix, although I admittedly haven't looked that hard or very recently.

Just annoys me when people assume everyone has high-speed. Many with families and other adult responsibilities usually have a spot picked out for every dollar that comes in.

Yes, its an original approach to web design.
DHTML layers would speed it up.

Kind of like it though.
