Just a simple question... anyone know of where in the OS I can find a mini slider? The one I'm working on requires some moving around and resizing of elements, and it took a lot of tweaking to get the large and small ones looking right. I'd rather leave the minis as unchanged aqua rather than do it blind without knowing how it will look.

I think what you're referring to is actually a scrollbar. There are only two sizes of scroll bars, large and small, and those aren't a problem for me. I can also preview large and small sliders, but the third size, mini, is proving impossible to find =-\.

Just to clarify, a slider is what's used to do things like change the volume. Sorry for the confusion .

I seem to recall seeing all of the mini controls in some appearance application. I thought it was the one that came with the DevTools (Appearance Sample), but it's not. If I find it, I'll let you know...

I don't know offhand where you can find one but I know you can get one in Interface Builder if you have xcode installed.

Couldn't someone build a new Panther preview app with all the mini checkboxes, radiobuttons, sliders, push buttons and popupbuttons? They are hard to find in real use and I'm not very good Interface builder..

The new Proteus Beta has in one of its preference panes use of some mini-states of widgets.

I've been thinking about the need to update the theme preview in both ThemePark and ShapeShifter. I'm considering going to a format that has a table view along the left side that lists different UI elements and a display of all states and sizes of the selected element on the right side.

I'm open to any contributions or mockups anyone wants to shoot my way - laying out a theme preview app is not the most exciting task in the world.

I'd offer to help, but everthing I know about Interface Builder can fit inside a thimble. Maybe I'll play around with it a bit to come up with a more global preview, my mini slider one is working great so far.
