I am in the proccess of building my first osx theme using Themepark.
However, I have found that if I copy an image from ThemePark, paste it into Photoshop CS, then copy it from photoshop and paste it back into Themepark, some grey levels become darker.
I haven't been able to find a way to stop, bi-pass or correct this shift in intensity.
Can anyone help or suggest a cure?
thanks
DT

DT, First let me say that i'm excited to see you move to OSX.. your work on K-Shemes was great!! Now for your help.. have you checked and double check your color settings on your machine? i think (40% sure) that themepark uses sRGB to color match off of and this might be where you are seeing your color shift from PS CS..

Holy smokes, the allmighty DragonTongue is back in the fold!!! I hope you don't give up on ThemePark 'cuz the most talented K2 schemers are sadly missed on the OS X side of things...
Humm, yeah your problem might have to do with profiles and ColorSync...

Are you using the send to and receive from Phothsip commands in ThemePark? If not do that, but be sure you have installed the Photoshop scripting addition; actually I think it is standard with Photoshop CS never mind. DO use the send and receive functions though since merely copying and pasting is a nono with the new TP and PS's lackluster clipboard management with transparency.

It is probably the colour management in Photoshop. Try turning off all colour management in the Photoshop prefs.

Thank you for the kind comments. =)
I have been on a huge emotional roller coaster for the last year (which I won't go into here) which is why Dragon Tongue has been out of the loop recently.
I was also waiting for KaliedoscopeX... but it doesn't look like that is ever going to happen. =/
Anyway... I am now working fully in OSX on my baby 12" ibook, and have started experimenting with ThemePark just to see what is possible.
I have 2 new Themes at about 80% complete.
When I'm not using Takashi Izawa's wonderful "AlumiteX[A2]", I'm using my almost complete "DT Grippy Alloy Smooth"
I noticed the 'fake theme' contest: http://www.macthemes.net/contest/entries.php
and was most impressed by some of the entries there.
Although I'm just starting to get my head around the limitations of OSX themeing, I can see that some of those ideas aren't fully possible. However they are stirring up the creative juices, which can only be good. =)
tis good to see some of the old names in here.
Back to PhotoShop:
•wibs, kwyjiboy:
I have turned off colour management with no obvious effect on the problem. =/
•swiz:
I have been using an earlier version of ThemePark.... downloading latest version as we speak. So I will experiment with "send to and receive from". thanks =)
•FBeye:
Yes, I'm back, thanks, and I'm not about to give up =)
There seem to be some advantages to theming in OSX... and very many disadvantage compared to Kschemeing. However, I'm looking forward to it. =)
I had built up many handy scripts to help speed through the time consuming process of building a scheme.
•Max's wonderful Theme Button Template 1.1 has been extremely useful. Although I have found a number of alignment bugs in places, I can't imagine working without them. =)
•Swiz, I'm kinda embarased to say that I haven't tried out your Swiz Cocoa To Carbon Button Actions yet. =/ I must give them a good look over. =)
•Dave-o™:
Thanks, I will test sRGB to see what happens =)

Welcome, Mr. Tongue!
Don't hesitate to post back if you can't get your color issues sorted out. As Swiz said, the Send to and Receive from Photoshop issues are pretty helpful, and are intended to get around the fact that Photoshop doesn't support images with transparency on the clipboard.
I recommend that you try to stay current with both the ThemePark and ShapeShifter releases. Since theming on OS X is still relatively immature, the new releases tend to pack lots of punch.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Thank U Dan for pointing me back here.
I have been a regular daily ResExcellence addict for more years than I can remember. =)
smeger:
ThemePark is a wonderfull piece of software... congratulations.
I'm sure that the 'send to', 'receive from' feature would fix my colour problems if I could just get them to work on my PhotoShopCS. (unexpected error)
(I had previously been using a Photoshop Action to create my B/W transparancy masks for 1.2 ThemePark.) Would it be possible to leave in an option to access the transparancy masks in future versions?... or would that become too messy and redundant?
DT
