Disable "ShapeShifter" for some music store problems Some users having problems with the music store shopping cart and one-click ordering under iTunes 4.5, report that disabling ShapeShifter - a haxie to change OS X interface via themes - resolves the issues.

MacFIxIt reader Thomas Deliduka writes "Last week I couldn't get to the Apple store's shopping cart nor could I order using one-click and I could with my windows computer.

"Turns out disabling "ShapeShifter" for iTunes solved my problem. [...] I simply added iTunes to the exclusion list in the ShapeShifter control panel."

Meanwhile, a report at MacThemes.net states "Jason Harris of Geekspiff Software is no doubt working on a minor ShapeShifter update to fix the problem. For now, it is recommended that users experiencing problems add iTunes to their ShapeShifter exclude list."
……………………………………………

However, I had no problem. Wonder why for some and not others?

Another reason I like to just manually install my own themes.

Or just clearing the shapeshifter cache then logging in again helps.

this is outlined in the itunes sticky thread in the software forum. i think the way around this is to either reapply your own theme, or switch to another and then back.

sorry for the echo shadow.

The work-around is to just reapply your theme and then relaunch iTunes. Not too big of a deal.

Here's more info from the iTunes thread.

And, the shopping cart issue turns out not to be caused by ShapeShifter, although ShapeShifter seemed to exacerbate it. See the posts from Apple at the end of this thread.
