Hi, I am running a Camino build 0.7+, the overall look is not bad, my Mac OS X livery is Good Grey, but I find the Camino´s toolbar a little pc-ish, well, not that bad but I would like to have more options, are there any replacements done or maybe to wait until the release of 0.8 to do it is a better option?

Have you tried one of the latest nighly builds of Camino?

Quite an overhaul compared to the official 0.7 release, including the UI.

He said 0.7+, that's a nightly. I'd guess he's talking about the new UI, although I could be wrong.

It's yet another web browser (and one that doesn't have a spellchecker yet, so I wouldn't recommend you using it). It has some nice stuff, and some not so nice stuff just like most of the others. Currently I switch between Safari and Omniweb 5 beta, but I used Camino for a long time.

Since when did spell check become an essential feature of a web browser?

Since Mac OS X came along and offered system wide spell checking.

If such a useful feature is available I expect the software I use to take advantage of it.

I was pointing out that the post I was replying to could use the attentions of a spell checker.

In response to the post a few above this about the redraw problem: It's a bug in 10.3, and it's likely that Apple will get around to fixing it before the Camino developers can work around it.

Camino has a much better ui design than safari, the tabs work better and everything has better drag and drop. Alas the new toolbar icons are generic and windowsy and the huge mass of bugs in the recent version render it unusable. The second those are gone i'll be using it again

Speaking of ugly, PC-ish browsers. Omniweb? I actually found the look of the latest Camino nightly to be very appealing. It looks more like Firefox/Thunderbird 0.6: Shiny.

just d/l the lates camino - have not used it in a while. I see why it used to be my default browser. It's so nice. Are there any ad blockers for it?
Thanks!

I've put up a css style sheet at http://www.obatik.com/stuff/adblocker.css

in all of the browers their preferences allow you to have a user-defined style sheet
download this as a file on your computer and select it as your style sheet

it blocks most ads, although it is slightly over-zealous sometimes.

The Camino team is hard at work making sure the bigest and worst bugs are gone in the .8 release. We know of one bug fixed in the upcomming system update (10.3.4) which is the floating iframe bug.

I think I'm gonna have to go with the majority opinion that Omniweb is the best looking browser on the Mac (Majority opinion from what I've read, anyway).
