I'm wanting to post my new themes as beta versions.
However I would still like to be able to stuff them in folders with a specific background intact. Any idea how to do this?.... I tried, and the background dissapeared.
Thanks

I'd suggest using a disk image instead. Those have more flexibility when it comes to customization.

Edit: Here are some directions I posted on a similar thread a while back.

Well I'm not sure if you've tried this but go to your Utilities folder, open "Disk Utility" and create a new image. Make sure the new image is a "read/write disk image." Place the icons and desktops where you want. Select the disk image, go to File>Get Info and change it's permissions to "Read Only"

that should do it. Have fun!

I'm not sure it can be done with a sit file at all. I've only seen people to icon arrangements (back in the OS9 days)

Use a DMG its alot easier!

It's impossible to do backgrounds with sit's. Use disk images, or try using Filestorm, the easiest solution to your request. (I used it for the packaging for ProLCD, which is pretty intense background imaging.)

Filestorm sounds very interesting =)
I'm looking into it now....

I used to do all the rows of icons for backgrounds in os9.

the disk image idea seems to work... however I'm sorta confused about filesize.

the folder I want to package is 2.6M
the resultant image... (when made from the folder) is 11M!

Did you do a compressed disk image?
