Where do I find the colour that controls the Safari bookmark-bar mouse-over?
(what name does it go by in ThemePark?)
What is 'control text'? (where in the finder does it show up?)
Which of the these branches should be themed and which should be ignored?
Appearance PrefPane
Application skins
BootPanel
Finder (yes... just found these)
Global Elements (yes)
Login Window
Menu Extras
Save Dialog
would it be possible to use separate resources for the carbon and cocoa windows?
(especially the title bar center stretch/tile section)
Thanks =)

I don't know about Safari bookmark bar mouseover, but control text usually refers to text on buttons and tab bars and that sort of thing, I think.
All of those items probably should be themed, but not all can be themed in a GUIKit, particularly the BootPanel.

Safari bookmarks are Etched Text (Front, Back, Rollover). Apple uses this in a few of the iLife proggies, so it's not specific to Safari.
Control text is a sort of "catch all" category for text associated with a control. Buttons, popup buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons - they all use Control Text.
For a guiKit, you can ignore Boot Panel and LoginWindow. You can also ignore Appearance Prefpane unless there are big differences between the Aqua and Graphite variants within your theme variant. There are lots of Application Skins, most people just do the ones they're interested in, or go until their eyes fall out. Ditto with Menu Extras.
I don't think the titlbar thang is currently possible, but you should wait to hear a "fer sure" answer from an actual themer on that.
Hope this helps!

I think I have the Etched text and rollover states sorted (mostly)
as you can see in my new beta 3 version:
http://www.dragon-tongue.com/download/GASb3.dmg.sit
text is dark green
etched highlight is light grey
rollover is mid light grey
however I'm still having trouble tryin to track down the dark grey rollover circular label shape that appears in behind the text in my bookmark bar.

Since I do not want to start a new thread, and the title is appropriate, I will post here. I just posted this in the geekspiff forum at funmac, but i think i may get a faster answer here:
Okay, I have a question:
I am modding Siro and would like to take out the black line along the bottom of the menu bar. I have edited it out from the menubar caps and fill, but cannot find where the resources are for the menu under the names - finder, file, edit, etc. (this is my first attempt at themeing of any-kind so sorry for the lack of technical jargon.)
Do I make any sense?
Image of what i have so far: http://www.funmac.com/attachment.php...2315&stc=1
Thanks for any help.

your menubar fill either needs to be one pixel taller... or there is a transparent pixel in the bottom of the fill.
Check that both fill and caps are identical heights.
If that still doesn't work... copy a new fill and caps from a blank theme... then past your new image over the top... check they line up... then send it (all layers) back to ThemePark.
Hope that helps

Ooops... I missread your question:
if your options are off, then U R looking for 'menu title selected- blue'
if your options are on, then U R looking for 'Aqua Root Menu (Caps) and (Fill)'
hopefully that is what U were looking for.
happy themeing =)

Well, i was going to say that no, that's not what I was looking for and then i noticed that you had corrected yourself - but that's still not it.
To be clear, i want to remove the black line underneath the menubar.
Thanks for all the help already, I really appreciate it.
