An odd problem has popped up.
I've just discovered that my vertical scroll thumb fills are not dragable in the next Theme I'm working on.
The V Caps can be dragged, but the fills can't.
It suggests that the click mask isn't working correctly, but they look ok, and I have
tried remaking them a few times with no joy.
any ideas?

This only seems to be happening in the finder... not in Safari.
(yes, I have rebooted both the finder and Safari)
something else odd about this...
in the finder, both both the left and right edge of the V fill, line up with the V caps,
however, in safari, the right side lines up... the left doesn't.
I'm beginning to wonder if the image might be slightly different from the standard width, and maybe that makes a difference?

There's something funky about these, but I don't remember the specifics. I think it's that the image needs at least one row of non-transparent pixels, or something like that.
Don't take me literally, I don't think that's exactly it. But I think all of the experienced themers know about this one, so I'm sure someone will jump in soon with the correct explanation.
If not, you could try searching this forum for something like "scroll thumb click mask", should turn up lots of hits.

The only scrollbar weirdness I run into is the "snap back" bug in carbon apps (cocoa doesn't have this problem). Basically, you grab the scroll bar, drag it to the end, and let go... only to watch it snap back to where it used to be. It's an easy fix - just put non-transparent pixel in 2 opposing corners. So for verticle thumb caps, you'd put a pixel of color in the upper right and the lower right corners, and have that color match whatever you're using as the right border of your scroll bar background.
I forget the exact rules regarding transparency for these little pixels, but I think they just can't be completely transparent. OS X has general click weirdness for anything below 5% opacity though, so you'll probably want to stick with that.
I don't know if this will fix your clickable problem or not, it's not something I've ever had a problem with before. It will definitely fix the scrollbar placement bug, though. Good luck .

I don't have the problem of jumping thumbs, or black pixels at the end of my thumb caps.
I have just fixed the problem... don't know how or why...
but I resized the thumbs to the same as the aqua ones, and now it works. =)

yes, the V thumb fill was a pixel too wide.
For some reason that stops it dragging. =/
(it would seem that some thumb fills are stretched, others tiled).
