While I was making them, I though they might also be a good set for ProLCD, so I made one backlit drive to get an idea. I think they're looking quite nice. Only a few more glyphs to go and then I am a log way toward a system replacement set, although I am not really looking forward to disks and memory sticks etc :/

It's clickable for big screenie.

Ya the glyph's perspective isn't quite right looking. Other than that looks really nice.

I think people are forgetting that most of us don't have our icons set at 128x128. Most of these really nice icon sets become almost non-usable once they are scaled down to say 64x64. I can see this happening with this icon set, as the emblems are nearly in-distinguishable at 128x128 on those HDDs, and the trim around the folders become nil once scaled down as well. I suggest taking this into consideration when designing your icons, that is, assuming you wish people to use them and enjoy them, which is probably why you're releasing them to public in the first place and posting a preview of them.
jesse ;-)

Very true. Someone needs to make a set with good mini icons too for those of us who use columns view all the time.

Since the OS7/8/9 days, icon design is becoming a lost art form.

more like usable-at-small-sizes icon design is becoming a lost art form.

Not bad, though the glyph should be a bit darker.

Unless you are some kind of myopic (near-sighted)
moron - all icons should be designed/readable at the
'small-sizes'.

Every hack can make a pleasing photorealistic 128x icon.
How many peeps use icons set at maximum size throughout
their system - 48/32/16 is where the art of icon making starts.

Gooo Italia! I think Icon Design has taken on an entirely different life. At 128x128 there is more accessibility, and more creative possibilities for people to express themselves with their computer. Icon pixel design, like you've opinionated, may very well become a lost art.

Although the branch will be able to display individual glyphs for column view(16 pix), I much prefer the icon in the lower branch, and then to use that a standard size 16. I would rather the set is consistent.
